Uili Kolo’ofai is Tonga’s 31st player for Rugby World Cup

NUKU’ALOFA-September 1: 12.35pm (Nuku’alofa Times): Newcastle Falcons lock Uili Kolo’ofai is the 31st member of the ‘Ikale Tahi for the Rugby World Cup in England.

Head Coach Mana ‘Otai and Manager Sioape Tui’ono named him in the final squad yesterday.

He is the only change to the squad that was announced earlier two weeks ago.

Tonga Rugby Union media officer Kyle Willoughby confirmed this from the team’s camp inBucharest, Romania where they will play a Test against Romania.

“We are pleased to welcome back Newcastle Falcons based lock Uili Kolo’ofa’i who will round out the team and has joined us in Bucharest,” Kyle said.

He adds power and experience to the forward pack that is already laced with experienced hands in Alisona Taumalolo who won two Super Rugby titles with the Chiefs of Waikato, Soane Tonga’uiha, Elvis Taione, Steve Mafi, Joe Tuineau, Hale T Pole, Viliami Ma’afu and Nili Latu.
