Education Director ordered to go on leave
NUKU’ALOFA-March 26: 4.53pm (Nuku’alofa Times): Education Director Emily Pouvalu was ordered to go on leave immediately last month because of her stance on the current Examination Marking saga.
Mrs Pouvalu was ordered to go on leave in a letter by Prime Minister ‘Akilisi Pohiva.
But that was rectified when the new Secretary to Cabinet, Dr Palenitina Langa’oi found out about the issue and advised the Prime Minister to withdraw the order.
Nuku’aofa Times was told about the issue this week and made enquiries with the Prime Minister’s Office.
Unfortunately no one has responded to the query.
Mrs Pouvalu is due to finish off her term next month.
The push to get her to go on leave is believed to be the result of her stand on the current examination mark saga, which the local media had highlighted in the past weeks.
