Team Tonga for Pacific Mini Games 2017 now in Port Vila
SYDNEY, Australia – December 1: 11.25am (Nuku’alofa Times): Members of the Team Tonga contingent to the 2017 Mini Games in Vanuatu have arrived safely in Port Vila.
Tonga Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee Secretary General Takitoa Taumoepeau told the Times Sports team that the officials and athelets of four (4) sports/National Federations (NF’s) are now in the Vanuatu capital.
Team Tonga athletes are made up of sports such as Football, Rugby 7’s and Table Tennis (and Para-Table Tennis).
Former Ikale Tahi captain ‘Inoke Afeaki is the Team Tonga general manager.
They arrived in Port Vila yesterday.
They were met at the airport by members of the Tongan community in Vanuatu led by Mrs ‘Eleni Tevi (Team attache), ‘Alipate Ma’u (Liaison officer) and ‘Amanaki Fakakovikaetau, Chef de Mission-Team Tonga PMG2017.
Team Tonga is accommodated at the Games Village at the Institute of Technology (Vanuatu) together with members of Team PNG and Team Tahiti.
Members of Team Tennis also arrived last night while members of Team Judo arrive today.
Takitoa said that all contingent members are in good spirit and health and continue with their respective training and other programs.
