Real Tonga to fly direct to Apia from February 12
NUKU’ALOFA-February 8, 2018: 3.35pm (Nuku’alofa Times): Real Tonga will make her first direct flight to Apia, Samoa on February 12.
This has been confirmed by company owner Tevita Palu.
He said the direct flight, which would leave Fua’amotu for Vava’u and then fly to Faleolo Airport in Apia will mean huge savings for those who travel to route.
Travellers have to transit via Fiji or Auckland at the moment.
That usually meant a stop-over each route.
“With the new service it’s one hour twenty minutes flight time to Samoa so you can see how you know the difference in the travel time. This is going to do a lot of good for the travelling public between the two nations,” Mr Palu said.
Real Tonga Airlines will use its SAAB 340 which seats thirty passengers and the flights’ timing will improve connections with Pagopago and Honolulu.
The flights will be scheduled for Mondays and Fridays weekly.
