Fiji’s Roving Ambassador to Tonga here for talks

NUKU’ALOFA-February 19, 2018: 10.50am (Nuku’alofa Times): Fiji’s Roving Ambassador to Tonga, Ratu Tui Cavuilati is in Nuku’alofa at the moment to hold talks on his country’s assistance to the Kingdom following Cyclone Gita’s davastation here last week.

Ratu Tui was recently appointed to the post, replacing Mrs Litia Mawi.

He said today that he was here to meet with the Foreign Affairs officials and NEMO in regards to Fiji’s possible assistance.

There are about 300 Fijians living in Tonga.

Most had their residences either partly destroyed during the cyclone, while some lost their homes.

Ratu Tui will return to Fiji tomorrow.
