Lands staff on protest
NUKU’ALOFA-March 5, 2018: 3.30pm (Nuku’alofa Times): Staff of the Ministry of Lands and Survey have closed doors on serving the public today as a protest against the treatment of former Minister Lord Ma’afu.
Lord Ma’afu resigned last Friday, without any reason given out by the Prime Minister’s Office.
He was apparently on the line to be fired by Prime Minister Akilisi Pohiva.
Staff at the Lands Ministry met with Lord Ma’afu this morning and PM Pohiva this afternoon.
It has been reported that they were unhappy with the way Lord Ma’afu has been treated by PM Pohiva.
