Fiji’s opposition SODELPA and NFP files petition in High Court
SUVA, Fiji – December 10, 2018: 8.15pm (FBC NEWS): Fiji’s opposition Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) and the National Federation Party (NFP) have filed a joint application today to legally challenge the outcome of the 2018 General Election.
Both NFP and SODELPA are expected to issue statements regarding the legal application.
It is understood that both parties have been working together for the past few weeks to gather evidence that would support their case.
SODELPA Leader Sitiveni Rabuka earlier told FBC News that they will provide strong evidence and they will only accept the election result if it’s proven to be transparent.
Today is the last day of the 21 days of appeal period in which any political party can lodge their legal application to challenge the election outcome.
