More Ice arrests
Nuku’alofa – March 9, 2019: 10.20am (Nuku’alofa Times): Acting Commissioner of Police Pelenatita Fe’ao Vaisuai said ice in Tonga is a big problem that everyone must work together to address.
This follows the arrest of two men, a 24 year old from Kolomotu’a and a 22 year old from Fasimoeafi, on February 28.
Police recovered methamphetamine during a Police Drugs Enforcement Taskforce raid on a house in Kolomotu’a at around 9:30 pm on February 28.
There were 31 packs or 14.53 grams of methamphetamine and 1 pack or 0.72 grams of cannabis.
ACP Pelenatita said Taskforce will continue to target to detect and disrupt the supply of drugs and prosecute those responsible in order to keep our communities safe.
“We wish to acknowledge members of the public that have assisted Police through timely sharing of information, and encourage them to continue to do so as it is important that we stand together as people of Tonga in our fight to protect our children and the future of our nation from the harm and negative impact of drugs,” ACP Pelenatitta said.
